CSC is a place where people in rural and remote areas can access government services and programs online. These centres help residents connect to various government services easily through the internet.

If you want to start a Common Service Center in your area, you need to meet specific eligibility criteria to participate in the CSC 2.0 Scheme.

Eligibility Criteria to Participate in the CSC Scheme

To participate in the Common Service Center scheme, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Age: The applicant must be at least 18 years old.

Qualification: The applicant must have passed the Matriculation Level Examination or its equivalent from a recognized board.

The Common Service Center Scheme, designed by the government under the Digital India Programme, aims to provide e-services to citizens through established common centres. Eligible applicants can start a CSC by contacting the Service Center Agency (SCA) for their area.

Required CSC Infrastructure:

Space: A building or room with an area of 100 to 150 square feet.
Printers: Two printers (Dot Matrix and Inkjet).
Webcam: For video and image capture.
RAM: At least 512 MB storage capacity.
Connectivity: V-SAT connectivity, either wireless or wired.
Hard Disk Drive: Starting at 120 GB.
CD/DVD Drive: For media access and storage.
Biometric/IRIS Scanner: For banking services authentication.
The total estimated cost to set up a CSC, excluding the building and land, is between 1.25 to 1.50 lakh

How to Apply for a CSC Center

Follow these steps to apply for a CSC Center:

  • Visit the online web portal to register  or complete the application process. On the main page, click on “Apply”.
  • Enter your Aadhaar card details.
  • Enter the Captcha and click on “Submit”.
  • You will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP in the provided space.
  • Fill in your details on the Kiosk Tab, including the Kiosk center, Gram Panchayat details, and location.
  • Enter your bank details under the “Bank” tab.
  • Upload scanned copies of your documents and geotag photos of your Center.
  • Click on “Submit”.
  • You will receive a verification email at your registered email address. Save the application number for future reference.

Follow these steps to check the status of the registration :

Begin by visiting the official website.
Next, locate the registration or status option on the page and click on it.
Then, provide details such as your email ID, ID number, and biometric information associated with your Aadhaar ID.
Finally, click on the “Submit” button.
